COVID-19 PLAN

COVID-19 PLAN

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Diverse Dance Company has taken the following safety precautions to ensure the well-being of its students as well as families, staff, and the community:

  • Vaccines and booster shots are required for all teachers and staff and strongly encouraged for eligible students.
  • Surgical, N95 or KN95 masks are required for everyone entering our facility and must be worn so that the mouth and nose are fully covered at all times while in the studio.
  • The waiting room is closed. Parents/guardians should not be in the studio or the waiting room while classes are in session. However, parents may escort younger dancers into the facility as long as they wear a mask covering their mouth and nose at all times while in the studio and they remain in the facility no longer than necessary to insure that their young dancer has safely made it into class.
  • Parents and dancers should remain socially distanced and masked as much as possible while in the studio and students shall remain in assigned areas during classes, which have been taped out to ensure social distancing.
  • Cubbies have been assigned to each studio and are sanitized before and after all classes. Students are to grab their belongings one by one and distance themselves in the lobby or hallway, no one will be permitted to congregate near the cubbies.
  • Hand sanitizer is readily available throughout our facility. All students and staff are required to sanitize their hands before and after each class.
  • Our facility is cleaned and sanitized daily, a deep clean happens once a week.
  • Water cooler has been permanently removed.
  • All 3 HVAC units are equipped with fresh air returns and have been outfitted with UV sanitizing lighting which kill airborne pathogens.
  • All studio floors have been taped out to ensure social distancing.
  • Restrooms will be cleaned and sanitized throughout the day.
  • Plexi glass has been installed at our reception desk.
  • Class time is reduced to 55 minutes per class to allow for sanitizing between classes.
  • If:
    • a student or teacher has tested positive for COVID or is awaiting test results for COVID due to a suspected or possible case of COVID, they should not be present in Diverse Dance Company’s facilities/studio until they have either received a negative test result and would not be required or recommended to isolate or quarantine by either a medical provider, the CDC, the Montgomery County or Pennsylvania Health Departments, or some other local, state or federal governmental authority.
    • a student or teacher who has been present in the Diverse Dance Company facility thereafter determines that they have COVID-19, they shall promptly notify one of the Diverse Dance Company owners that they have tested positive and shall identify the person or persons with whom they had close contact while at the studio. Unless the parent or guardian agrees otherwise, the identity of the student or teacher who tested positive shall be kept confidential when notice is sent to the close contacts, except that Diverse Dance Company may disclose the identity of the student or teacher to the Montgomery County or Pennsylvania Heath Departments or the health department where the individual resides to facilitate contact tracing.
    • a student or a teacher is required or been recommended to isolate or quarantine by either a medical provider, the CDC, a public health department, or some other local, state or federal governmental authority, the student or teacher may not be present in Diverse Dance Company’s facilities/studio until such time as the isolation or quarantine is no longer required.
    • a student is experiencing COVID symptoms, they may not attend in person classes but may use a virtual class option if one is available until they are symptom free per current CDC guidelines.
    • a teacher is experiencing COVID symptoms, they may not teach an in person class and should notify one of the Diverse Dance Company owners and request permission to teach remotely if they are physically able to do so until they are symptom free per current CDC guidelines.
    • a student is not fully vaccinated as defined by the CDC or not received a booster vaccine if more than six months have passed since the second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two weeks months after their J&J vaccine, and they live in a household with someone who has tested positive for COVID, they are required to stay home until they would not be required by the CDC or other public health authority or physician to quarantine or isolate.
    • a student is not fully vaccinated as defined by the CDC and they have had “close contact” as defined by the CDC with someone who has tested positive for COVID, they are required to stay home until they are not required or recommended to isolate or quarantine by the CDC, a medical provider, public health department or other local, state or federal governmental authority.
    • a student starts experiencing symptoms while at the studio, they will be dismissed from class, a parent /guardian will be notified and should be picked up as soon as possible.
    • a teacher starts experiencing symptoms while at the studio, the teacher will be sent home and the class will either be taught by an approved substitute, canceled or rescheduled.
